Portrait of a socialist revolutionary who led is new nation, Burkina Faso, for only 4 years, yet he led them into food self sufficiency, ending colonialist food aid, stopped desertification with tree planting, built quality public housing and public transportation, all without taking loans from the international community, broke feudal age controls with land redistribution to the public and empowered women with real jobs and education, including the military. When he encouraged African nations to refuse to pay reparations to their former European masters for breaking free, French leadership conspired with his closest friend to murder him 4 years into his term, and placed the assassin as dictator for 27 years.
